Welcome to the MarketSci Blog
This is my repository for bits of my research on stock market trading.
A little about who I am and what I do…
My name is Michael Stokes. I’m the developer of the MarketSci mutual fund trading strategies, co-developer of the YK absolute return trading strategies, and part of the team at Timer Seeds – an incubator for developing professional market timers. Note the common thread: I’m professionally invested in (and personally obsessed with) developing real trading strategies that work.
A little about the MarketSci Blog…
I am what I guess you’d call “obsessively numbers-oriented” – everything I do is based on the idea that if we look hard enough, we can find patterns in historical market data that can be exploited in the future. This blog is about finding those patterns.
This blog will be a bit on the geeky side, occasionally witty and entertaining (I hope), but always, always, always empirical in nature – I’ll be checking my opinions at the door and focusing on just the facts. I expect this to be a pretty low volume blog – I don’t intend to post unless I have something reasonably insightful to say – so I would encourage you to subscribe to our RSS Feed.
And lastly, as long-time visitors to MarketSci.com (the company, not the blog) know, we used to publish a good bit of market timing research on that site. We took down that research at the turn of the year so that we could focus our energies on serving MarketSci.com’s investors. But I’ll be periodically dusting off some of those golden oldies and republishing them here.
I’m glad you’re here and I look forward to all of our future discussions, disagreements, and discoveries.
Happy trading,
ms
