The Addendum

18Jan10

Some of the strategies we talk about are not a good fit for the State of the Market report because (a) they’re meant to trade something other than broad U.S. indexes like the S&P 500, or (b) they’re too similar to something already on the report.

So for those strategies, we’ve added the Addendum.

The Addendum will be updated daily just like the State of the Market report and will show the next-day prediction of strategies like Kaeppel’s Sector Seasonality and the 5-10-20 Nasdaq Trend-Following strategy.

This is our first pass at the new report, so expect additional strategies to be added in the coming months. And be sure you’ve signed up for our special SOTM RSS or Email feeds to be notified when the State of the Market and the Addendum are updated each day (note that these are NOT the same as our blog feeds).

Michael, what happened to your Twitter feed? It looks like it’s gone. I liked it because it was immediate, and prompted me without my having to go check it all the time, which I believe is a problem with the other two methods you mentioned above.

RE to CarlosR: yep, sorry about that Carlos. It went the way of the dodo bird when I took my hiatus last year. I was getting way too busy with small stuff, so I cut some of the less important things out (like Twitter). michael

    OK, I understand.

Maybe in the future you can come up with some way of automating it, so that an automatic tweet saying “SOTM posted” would be sent, without you having to do anything.

Of course, figuring out how to do that takes time, and it seems the lack of time is why you quit tweeting…. so I won’t hold my breath for this!

  4. Michael, what happened to the State of the Market Report? Did these strategies get absorbed into your proprietary strategies?
