Not to beat a dead horse, but below are updated stats for our test of the “best 2-day indicator”, revised to include the new Consistency Metric (right column). See previous post for test assumptions.

Same (over-simplified) conclusion: Index RSI(2) has been the best short-term OB/OS indicator for the S&P 500, and DV(2) the best for the ETF SPY.

    Just a comment about your data presentation here: the red colors in your table are very deceptive, because they imply negative performance (but I believe that everything here is positive)…

      RE to Shane: I stated ad infinitum in the multiple posts leading up to this one that ALL of the indicators have been effective short-term indicators since the turn of the century. The green/red heatmap is highlighting the “best” out of a good bunch.

      I’m assuming you jumped in mid-stream, but it shouldn’t be deceptive (I hope) to anyone following the thread from the beginning. michael
